This is what has caused the sexual abuse scandals the Catholic church is now facing. The issue must be addressed because the church is losing power and prestige. The Vatican is facing several aspects of the crisis. The "crisis in the family" has led to a legal and moral crisis, a corresponding financial crisis, and the possible dissolution of the church if they cannot come up with a resolution to the crisis that benefits all people.

Requiring celibacy of its priests started a series of ripples and cycles. It was a sense of "us" versus "them," leading to power games. One was more virtuous than another because of the sense of sacrifice. It allowed the more virtuous one to make judgments and to put others down for their carnal desires. The oppression starts the series of events, with the ultimate conclusion of war and genocide, amongst individuals or cultures. (For more information about how oppression leads to war and genocides, please see our information about the Light Source Principles.)

The Catholic church stands on the premise that your most important and intimate relationship is with the Creator, which is true. Attempting to repress one's sexual urges was a way to demonstrate one's spiritual marriage to God is a misunderstanding. There is a far different concept, based on sacred geometry, that is the basis for male and female relationships. Standing on the principles of Universal Law is the first principle for creating the life you want and fulfilling your purpose in life. Relying on power games goes against Universal Law, and has a corresponding backlash. The power games are called the Seven Deadly Sins because the backlash is that the perpetrator always loses his or her rights to create their life.

Celibacy started as a solution to the problem of competing with other religions for priesthood and members, but because their plan didn't address the root cause of the issue, it has made the problem worse. The church told the Grand Lie. (I refer you to our mini-book, "Roles and Goals," by I Am That I Am. On The Rainbow Peace Store It addresses the Grand Lie told by the church to draw in support, in competition with the other religions, including pagan beliefs.)

When first faced with the issue of priests abusing others, it became a dilemma first for the individual who discovered the crisis, and then his superiors. The first complaints could be ignored. When this issue first arose, human rights were far different than now. A priest was a man of high standing in the community, and had God on his side, and in most cultures, young people had very little social power or even legal rights. A "good man" must not be accused of doing heinous things to others.

The church had to face the initial crisis, and to make a choice of how it would respond. Anything that threatens your financial support or security must be ignored or put down... or the third option in any dilemma is to do what is in everyone's best interest, but that option is oftentimes not seen until the ensuing conflict reaches the point that you have lost all of your power. You cannot convince anyone that what they are doing isn't working until they reach the point of "the brick wall." The pendulum swings to its ultimate conclusion. Celibacy was supposed to draw in people, but then it is actually causing people to leave the church.

I will leave the issue of legality to others, and not make a judgment of whether someone is good or bad. That can only be judged by God, and God doesn't judge. Legal or not is the responsibility of the legal system of the community. (There are other reasons for the celibacy policy, such as "you cannot serve two masters." But, there are other ways to deal with the issue of serving two masters but not repressing one's sexual urges. Other religions allow their priests to marry, for example.)

The church must stand on its own teachings, turn around the principle and apply it in this crisis. Power comes from assuming responsibility to undo the damage you have done, and you rise and fall in power by the choices you make.

The plan that benefits all people is for the Catholic church to allow the old paradigm that not longer works to fall away and to replace it with something that functions on a higher level. It is not necessary to draw in people if you are standing on the teachings of the spiritual hierarchy. The teachings of Jesus and the rest of the prophets are remarkable. Why compete? Why not allow the people to come when you demonstrate the power the teachings have?

We are introducing The Faith of the Pure Ray, which says that the even major religions each form one segment of the spiritual teachings, and that Christianity represents the first segment, "The Plan." By telling the Grand Lie to draw in power and people, they lost power and people, but the church can learn from this lesson, and return to the teachings. By participation in the Faith of the Pure Ray churches, people will be automatically drawn into the process to learn how to create the life they want, based on the spiritual teachings of all the avatars.

U.S. Catholics can help end terrorism

When you are caught in the middle of a crisis, it is hard to be objective, but objectivity is necessary to end the crisis of terrorism. We are going to address a project associated with healing the effects of terrorism caused by the Crusades of the Middle Ages, and allow U.S. Catholics to deal with it, because we have been relatively protected from the backlash of terrorism.

The root cause of terrorism is that people "on the bottom" have no voice in matters of great concern, and must raise their voice to be heard, oftentimes to the point of violence. We will allow people to have a voice, as citizens of the proposed international government, and through our newsletters.

We will address the crises facing the Catholic church, especially those that are not being addressed by the Vatican, and offering solutions.
